These economical one-day tours take you to practically every major point of interest in and around Hanoi. They are available separately so you can choose the things that interest you most. Groups are small, and we use comfortable air conditioned vehicles. We stop for a simple lunch, which is on your own. Although it is possible to buy tickets the day before any tour through our Hanoi office, it is not a bad idea to make arrangements in advance.

From your hotel this morning we take you to visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum (if open),
the One Pillar Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple and West Lake. After a lunch of "Cha
Ca" (a special fish dish found only in Hanoi) we continue to the Old Quarter, Hoan
Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son temple, and the "Hanoi Hilton" (former French-built prison).
Ends at your hotel late afternoon.

From your hotel this morning we take you to visit the Municipal Theater, History
Museum, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son temple. Then, a walking tour into the "old
quarter" to witness ordinary life in Hanoi. After a lunch of bun cha (grilled
meat on rice noodles) we continue to the Army Museum, Ba Dinh Square, Quan Thanh Temple
and the Museum of Ethnology. Return to your hotel late afternoon.

The religious shrines known as the "Perfume Pagodas" are one of Northern
Vietnam's most popular places for visitors. Set in deep limestone grottoes, the shrines
are sacred to many of the world's Buddhists, so you share the experience with many
religious pilgrims. Travel by van to the countryside, by sampan along the gentle Yen
River, and finally on foot to the temple grounds. Today offers some of the most beautiful
scenery of your visit to Vietnam. Includes a box lunch. Good walking shoes and an umbrella
or hat are essential. Shorts are not appropriate for visiting the pagodas.

Travel about 100km South of Hanoi to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam. Stop for a
short hike up Yen Ngua mountain to enjoy the panoramic view, then to picturesque Tam Coc
for lunch. In the afternoon we travel in a sampan through florescent green rice paddies as
mountainous limestone rock formations tower around you. Bring a hat or umbrella and sun
screen.

Red River Boat tripSundays only. This full day excursion on the Red River gives you a close look at life

Early morning departure from your hotel and drive through the countryside to Halong
Bay. We board our boat on arrival for a four hour cruise of the bay, visiting grottoes and
