In the case that you have time you can take the tours by bicycle. It seems to be more interesting and flexible for you.

Day One: 8:00 AM Start cycling form Hanoi to Hoabinh ( 80 km). Picnic lunch en route. Check in hotel  in Hoabinh. Dinner [L,D].

Day Two:  8:00 AM Cycle from Hoabinh up to Mai chau ( 70 km ). Picnic lunch. Dinner and night at a stilt house at Thai minority village.

Day Three: 8:00 AM cycle from Mai chau to Cuc phuong ( 90 km). Lunch at a restaurant en route. Dinner and night at Cuc phuong national park's guest house.

Day four: AM:short trek in rain forest. PM: cycle from Cucphuong to Ninhbinh (40 km). Night at a minihotel in Ninhbinh.

Day five: cycle to Tamcoc ( 7 km).Take a sampan trip, enjoying beautiful scenery. PM: back to Hanoi.
